Thanks
Hello All-
Thanks to everyone that came out for last week's Charlotte 60s Reunion at Neighborhood Theatre. A good time was had by all, and we're looking at a third annual event next year. Stay tuned. Our book is now available on Amazon, or by contacting us directly. Your local bookstore should also be able to order our book for you, if you ask nicely.
In the meantime, my co-author Jake Berger and his Mannish Boys are now gearing up with more shows. Check them out on Facebook, or at www.blogger.com/mannishboysnc. You can also check out a new interview I did with James Lowe of the Electric Prunes on my blog, danielcoston.blogspot.com.
Happy Fourth, free your mind, and thanks again,
-Daniel

Standells In North Carolina on April 27th and 28th
One of the most influential Garage Rock bands was the Standells. Their biggest hit, "Dirty Water" has now been embraced my multiple generations as their own, and their catalog is a staple of Nuggets and 1960s music fans worldwide.
The Standells have recently reformed, released a new album (entitled "Bump") and are making a rare stop in North Carolina next week. The band, which features founding members Russ Tamblyn and John Fleckenstein, will kick off their tour at Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte on Sunday, April 27th. The band will then headline at Local 506 in Chapel Hill the following night, April 28th. Opening for the Standells will be Thee Dirtybeats, featuring Tobacco A Go Go's legendary swami of Carolina coolness, Ken Friedman. Thee Dirtybeats will also close out our release party for our book's 2nd edition at Neighborhod Theatre in Charlotte on June 21st. (You hadn't heard that yet? Well, you just heard it here first.)
So, let's review. Standells. North Carolina. April 27th at Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, and Local 506 in Chapel Hill on April 28th. Come one, come all, and I'll see you at both, if not both shows.

Updated There Was A Time edition/Charlotte 60s reunion
Hello All-
I'm happy to announce that we're working on an updated edition of There Was A Time. So much new information has come in since we published the book last year, that we decided to put it all in a second edition, with some extra surprises. Stay tuned.
Also, for those of you who came to our Charlotte 60s Reunion concert last June, we're going to be doing that show again. Your favorites from last year will be back, along with some new reunions. I'll be announcing the lineup, and show date and time soon.
More soon. Safe travels,

"Abba" performed at our show finale
Here's video footage of the closing number of our book release party. Of course, it had to be "Abba", performed by the song's original composer, Jim Charles, Paragons guitarist Pat Walters, and members of the Young Ages, GBU, Abbadons and the Mannish Boys. If you've got more video footage from this show, please send it to me. Thanks, and keep the next-to-last weekend in June 2014 open for next year's show. Thanks to Funhouse73 for this footage. See you soon,

Hello Everyone-
My thanks to everyone who came out for our book release party on Friday, as well as my appearance at the Joe Newberry/Mike Compton house concert last night, which promoted my other forthcoming book.
